| Over 2,000 years ago, in the town
of david, a baby was born. This baby was special, and would grow up to
be the most famous person ever known. This baby has a story.
Mary was the mother of this baby,
and looking at her life, you would say that Joseph was the father, but
looks can be dicieving. The father of this baby is God, for Mary was a
virgin at the time of his birth.
An angel appeared to Mary, the
angel's name was Gabriel, and said to her "Greetings! You are highly
favored, the Lord is with you!" Mary was confused, but the angel said
to her: "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with the
Lord. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to
give him the name Jesus. He will be great and he will be called the Son
of the Most High. The Lord will give him the throne of his Father David
and he will reign over the house of Jakob forever, the his kingdom will
never end." (Luke 1: 30 - 33) [reader if you are confused by this, all
it means is that the baby would have a high throne, and a powerfull
kingdom.]
Mary questioned how this could come
to be, since she was a virgun, and the angel told her "Thr Holy spirit,
and the power of the most high [that is, God.] will overshadow you. So
the holy one to be born will be called the som of God...".
Mary answered: "I am the Lords servant, may it be to me as you have said. "
When Joseph, whom was pledged to be
married to Mary found that she was pregnant, he made to divorce her in
quiet because he did not want to bring the public's shame upon her,
until one night an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said "
Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take mary home as your wife,
because what is concieved in her is the work of God. She will give
birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will
save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:20-21). So the next day,
Joseph took married Mary. (that could be a tounge twister.. lol)
When Mary was close to having thr
baby, King Herod issued a census to be take, which required every man
to travel back to his hometown, so Joseph traveled back to his
hometown, to bethlehem, the town of David.
Soon the night came for Mary to
deliver her baby, but they were unable to find an inn with an
empty room. After searching many hours, an owner of an inn finally
granted Mary and Joseph with a bit of space in his stable for Mary
to birth her baby.
After the baby was birthed, we was
wrapped in swadling clothes and placed in the animals
troth in place or a crib. A bright star's light was seen to
shine above the stable that night, and that very star lead Jesus's
followers to him.
There were shepards out that
night, watching their flocks, when an angel of the Lord appeared
to them. And the Glory of the Lord shone about them. The shepards
were terrified. "Do not be afraid," it said, for i bring to good
news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the Town of
David, a savior if the Lord has been born to you; He is Christ the
Lord. This will be a sign to you, you will find a baby wrapped in
cloths and laying in a manger.
Then a great multitude of angles
appeared to the shepards and sang together praising God: "Glory to God
in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
When all the angles left, the
shepards conferred and decided to got the the town of David to visit
the baby that was the Lord. So they traveled and found Mary, Joseph and
Jesus, and after they visited, they left and spread the word of the
newborn savior.
Soon the news traveled to King
Herod, and being king, he did not want anyone coming up and stealing
his throne, so he orderd his servants (often referred to as the
three wise men) to go and find the boy, and then report back to
him. The Star of David shining over the stable was their way of finding
the savoir, only when they saw it they were overjoyed. When they came
to the manger, they bowed down and worshipped the baby. Then they
granted him with gifts of Gold, incense, and myrrh (pronounced murr).
They were warned with a dream from gos not to go back to King Herod,
and told Mary of his plans to kill baby jesus. Mary and Baby
jesus fled to Egypt, for Joseph had been told by an angel in a dream to
stay there.
~so there you have it, the
christmas story, for the day of Jesus's birth is the day we also know
as Christmas. Could it be anything but true, for everything plays
together, how the Lord God sent so many angels guiding mary
and joseph through the story, he would not let anything happen
to baby jesus if it was not planned. If you have never
heard this story before, or even if you have, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
comment and tell us what you think, or if you would like to become a

~please note, that we cannot fill
all the gaps of Jesus's life here on this website, for the amount
listed in the bible itself is incomplete, and posting it all here would
make the site much to lengthy. Find a bible at most bookstores to read
more if you wish.~
When Jesus was about twelve years
old; Joseph Mary and Jesus went to Jerusalem for the feast of the
Passover, and children would attend starting at age twelve, according
to custom. After the feast, Mary and Joseph were returning home while
Jesus got seperated on acount of the crowds, but his parents were
unaware of this, and thinking he was with them they traveled home,
which took about one day. Upon arriving home they found that he was not
in their company and went looking for him among friends and relatives.
When they still could not find him, they traveled back to Jerusalem and
after three days he was found. He was discovered sitting among the
teachers of the temple, listening to them and asking questions and
preaching. Everyone was astonished at the boy's understanding and
knowledege of the Holy Father. His parents asked him "Son, why have you
treated us like this? Your father and I have have been searching for
you for three days." Jesus replied, "Why were you searching for me?
Didn't you know that I would be in my father's house?"
Around the same time of Jesus's
birth, Mary's sister also had a baby that would grow up to serve the
Lord, although his birth wasn't so eventful. Elizabeth (Mary's sister)
and Zacheriah birthed a son and named him John, and he would grow up to
be known as John the baptist.
